Frequently asked questions about DepositoLive
1. General
How old do I have to be to use DepositoLive?
You must be at least 18 years old to have a DepositoLive account. You can visit public information pages without an account.
What is DepositoLive?
DepositoLive is a direct-to-fan platform for music, social interaction, events and ticketing.
Artists and organisers can manage their own profiles, music and events and connect directly with their fans.
Fans can follow artists and other public profiles, read posts, comment and leave hearts, add music to their library and buy event tickets.
How does DepositoLive differ from traditional streaming, social media or ticketing platforms?
DepositoLive brings together functions often spread across several services.
The direct relationship between artists, organisers and fans is central.
Without your own priorities, your feed follows recency. You can mark followed profiles as important, normal or less important. DepositoLive uses no hidden engagement or advertising algorithms for this.
However, DepositoLive does not guarantee any particular number of views, reactions or people actually reached.
Who operates DepositoLive?
DepositoLive is operated by
ProWebSolutions GmbH Aurelienstraße 48 04177 Leipzig Germany
Further statutory company and contact information is available in the legal notice.
Do I need several DepositoLive accounts if I am both a fan and an artist?
No.
DepositoLive generally uses one shared user account.
Your personal profile belongs to that account. Depending on your use, you can also activate artist or organiser functions.
One DepositoLive profile for all your functions.
2. For fans
What is an Album Pass?
An Album Pass gives you full digital access to an album within DepositoLive for a specified period.
A typical period might, for example, be 30 days.
Full access ends automatically when the pass expires. Publicly available previews are unaffected.
Is an Album Pass a traditional rental or loan?
No.
DepositoLive deliberately calls this function an Album Pass or time-limited digital access.
You do not acquire ownership of a music file.
Can I buy music permanently?
Yes.
A permanent digital purchase gives your DepositoLive account access to the purchased album without a time limit, within the uses offered by DepositoLive.
The album then appears in your personal music library.
Do I receive MP3 or ZIP files to download with a digital purchase?
Not automatically at present.
A permanent purchase currently means permanent digital access within DepositoLive.
A file download that you can save freely is offered only if expressly stated in the offer.
Can I redeem an album code from a CD or vinyl record?
Yes.
Artists can generate album codes that can, for example, accompany a physical record or other material.
After successful redemption, the corresponding album is permanently added to your DepositoLive music library.
Can I order vinyl, CDs or merchandise directly through DepositoLive?
A complete merchandise and shipping business is not currently an enabled part of DepositoLive.
DepositoLive already provides album codes for physical releases.
If direct goods sales are offered later, the respective seller, price, shipping and withdrawal information will be displayed before purchase.
How does the social area work?
You can follow public artist and user profiles.
Without your own priorities, your feed follows recency. You can mark followed profiles as important, normal or less important. DepositoLive uses no hidden engagement or advertising algorithms for this.
You can leave hearts, comment and, depending on your profile settings, publish your own posts.
Is my personal profile automatically public?
When setting up your fan profile, you decide whether it should be public or private. Other fans can find and follow a public profile; a private profile is excluded from the public fan search. Activating artist or organizer functions makes the same profile public. Posts previously published privately remain private.
Can I follow my own profiles?
No.
You cannot follow your own personal or artist profiles.
Will I receive emails about new posts or comments?
Social email notifications are disabled by default. If you enable them, you can currently choose to be notified immediately or at most once a day. You can change this setting at any time or disable notifications completely.
3. Music
In what order are tracks played?
Within an album, tracks play in the album order set by the artist.
When a track ends, the player can automatically continue with the next track.
Can I currently listen to purchased music offline?
The current web platform generally requires an internet connection for protected music playback.
Offline music is planned for a later app function but is not yet part of the functionality currently promised to the public.
4. Tickets and events
Who sells me my ticket?
Before you complete an order, the artist or organiser acting as the economic seller or organiser of the event is displayed.
Unless DepositoLive is expressly identified as the organiser or seller itself, DepositoLive provides the technical sales and payment infrastructure.
Are there hidden fees when buying tickets?
The total price shown before you place your order with an obligation to pay is the applicable total price for that order.
Mandatory components and other chargeable items are displayed before completion.
Are there both free seating and reserved seats?
Yes.
Organisers can offer events with free seating or specifically reserved seats, for example.
With free seating, no individual seat is assigned to your ticket.
With reserved seating, you choose a specific available seat.
How does DepositoLive prevent seats from being sold twice?
For events with reserved seats, selection, reservation and sale are managed on the server.
A seat cannot be successfully sold to several buyers at the same time.
How does admission work?
Each DepositoLive ticket has its own digital proof of entitlement, in particular a QR code.
The organiser can check it using the DepositoLive admission view on a suitable device.
Tickets already used, invalid, refunded or belonging to a different event are recognised accordingly.
Does admission checking work offline?
The current web solution generally requires a connection to the DepositoLive platform.
Enhanced offline functions may be part of a later mobile app but are not currently promised.
Can I buy several tickets in one order?
Yes.
An order is displayed as a group in “My tickets”.
Opening an order with several tickets lets you view each ticket and its QR code.
Can I transfer a ticket to another person?
A complete ticket transfer function is not currently enabled.
Until such a function is expressly offered, a digital ticket cannot be technically transferred to another DepositoLive user merely by changing account data or using screenshots.
Can I simply change a past event to a new date?
Historical events with tickets, orders or settlement data are not reused as new events.
Instead, organisers can duplicate suitable past events as a template for a new event.
This creates a new event without old tickets, payments, QR codes or orders.
5. For artists
How is my feed sorted?
Without your own priorities, your feed follows recency. You can mark followed profiles as important, normal or less important. DepositoLive uses no hidden engagement or advertising algorithms for this.
DepositoLive currently sells no additional organic reach and does not reduce normal Following posts in favour of paid reach.
No particular number of actual views is guaranteed.
As an artist, can I buy my own album?
This is not necessary.
If you are authorised to manage an album, you already have the corresponding access.
In this case, DepositoLive does not display a normal buyer checkout for your own album.
How much do I keep from sales?
The applicable prices, platform fees and payout amounts are displayed transparently in the relevant Backstage or sales process.
The specific fee depends on the product type and current fee rule.
DepositoLive makes no blanket statement that 100 percent of the fan price is paid to the provider for every product type.
Are there promoted posts or paid reach?
Not at present.
If DepositoLive offers paid reach functions later, such content and the applicable conditions will be clearly identified.
Can I have several artist profiles under one login?
The current product model generally provides one personal profile and additional creator capabilities.
The current artist profile model is not designed for managing an arbitrary number of independent artist identities under a single normal account.
6. For organisers
Is DepositoLive ticketing selected by default when creating an event?
For a new normal event, “Sell tickets through DepositoLive” is selected by default.
You can deliberately choose external ticket sales instead or publish the event for information only.
How are seating plans created?
In Backstage, organisers can create reusable seating plans for rooms.
These include rows, tables, sections and graphic elements, among other things.
Published layout versions remain stable for historical events already assigned to them.
Can I use an existing seating plan for a new event?
Yes.
For an event with reserved seats, you can select a compatible existing seating plan or create a new one.
The event then uses a specific layout version.
Must a seated concert always have reserved seats?
No.
A seated concert can also offer free seating.
In this case, a shared capacity limit applies without individual seats being assigned to tickets.
Can I assign artists to an event?
Yes.
Performing artists can be assigned to an event as its line-up.
This assignment does not automatically give every participating artist administrative rights over the event.
